   Still competing in the Hunter/Jumper, as well as the Dressage ring, Affair is an impressive pony. He stands at 13.2 hands, and is an 11 year Welsh/British Riding Pony from Northwind Farms. His incredible breeding is well known by pony enthusiasts; Cusop Jovial was ranked 13 in 2005 for leading Pony Sires by the USEF.

   Always leaving the show grounds with stellar results, some highlights of Affair’s career include many winning Schooling Pony rounds and under saddle classes at Thunderbird Show Park. He also is an eye catching dressage pony, recently being awarded two high point awards at the Vernon Dressage Show with two scores of over 78.00%! He is very scopey, jumping up to 3’9” and has competed, with Championship results in the 3’ hunter and jumper classes. Affair is also an approved Oldenburg Sport Pony, retaining this prestigious award with his successful show career.

   Affair is a uniquely good natured stud, a trait he stamps into his foals. At shows, many are surprised to realize that he is not gelded, as he is always well mannered. He can be handled by children and is ridden on flat and over fences by teenagers.

   Affair’s first crop of foals are seven year olds this year and have begun their show careers successfully. All of them have his quiet disposition and incredible talent. ‘Crossrail Affair Share’ won five Pony championships and Spruce Meadows before going to his new home in Montana. ‘Crossrail Not Your Average Joe’ has been successful showing at Thunderbird this season, winning and placing in most classes. ‘Kingsview’ Formal Affair has received championships not only in the hunter/Jumper ring, but has proven himself on the Cross-Country course as well.

   In 1988, 1991 and 1997, Lane’s Grandsire, ‘Sleight of Hand’, was Supreme Champion of the American National Welsh Shows. “No other pony or cob has won this honor three times since the first American National Welsh Show was held in 1977” (Gayfield’s Welsh Ponies).

   Reflective of his excellent breeding, Lane has the ideal Welsh conformation and fluidity through his movement. Lane has a very quiet disposition; he is friendly and gentle, characteristics he passes onto his offspring, along with his flashy movement.

   Identical to his Welsh sire Llanarth Cassino, which was imported by Crossrail Farm, Crossrail Cassino demonstrates all of the temperament and conformation privileges of the world famous Llanarth lines. This heritage stretches back to the Revel Pony Lines, which many of the top ponies around the world branch from. Crossrail Cassino is grey and like his father, proudly blinks his big, bright, black Welsh eyes, that are so iconic for the Llanarth lines. His Grandsire on his dam’s side, Ardmore Spinner, is the sire of USEF Leading Sire ‘Ardmore Whirlwind’ and many others.

   His offspring have been successful in their show careers. ‘Crossrail Show and Tell’ has begun her show career with strength, taking ribbons in every class she has competed in.
